abies are naturally musical!  But believe it or not, most people aren’t born with “musical talent.” Babies are gifted musical talent by their experience around music as a baby and as a toddler. We tend to think it’s genetic because these are usually kids who have musical parents. But it’s what some musical parents naturally do around their kids that gives them this intuitive understanding of music. And even a lot of musical parents don‘t understand how to help their babies.

Whether or not you’re already musically trained, I’m going to show you how to give this gift to your baby in a clear,    step-by-step, loving, and fun way that will help you and your baby to understand all those basic concepts “talented kids” understand, and that will have your kids begging for music time every day.

Here’s what you won’t be getting: “How to play songs like a master real quick”, or tutorials showing you each key to press to play a complex piano piece. These methods and tutorials create technicians, not musicians – you will always need someone to show you which keys to press. Like a video game.

What I AM going to teach you is how to listen, how to understand musical notation in a profoundly simple way, how to create music of your own, and how to understand sheet music at a very basic level, all of which can grow into a deep understanding of real musicianship, as you continue your musical education along with your child. You’ll learn the baby steps of how to read music notation, how to improvise, compose and write music, and how to play with expression and great technique.  And. importantly, I’m going to show you all of this in ways that will be fun for your baby to watch you do, and to eventually copy!

These are foundational concepts that will prepare you and your child for in-person classes, when your baby’s a little older, and ready for some one-on-one time or social time with other toddlers and their parents. Little Bird Piano Academy™ certified teachers will be ready to add you and your toddler to their wait-list beginning in 2024, after you’ve completed this course! This is the long game that will give your baby all the advantages that come with musical training:

  • increased neuroplasticity (ability to adapt to situations)
  • improved language acquisition
  • precursor to reading and writing
  • stronger eye-hand coordination
  • improved facial reading (essential for social interaction)
  • creative thinking
  • problem solving
  • and of course, the ability to learn any other musical instrument with ease,

because they have been immersed in the language from infancy – by you, your baby’s very best teacher.
