A

t Little Bird Piano Academy, our goal is that kids develop an intrinsic desire to play the piano.  It’s a bit like growing flowers.

  • You prepare good soil
  • plant the seeds in a sunny spot
  • water them – not too little and not too much, but just right!

(When I was 8, my friend Teri sang to her radishes every day. She was a very successful radish gardener for an eight-year-old!)

I’m a huge fan of singing while you play the piano, and of singing to your radishes (or your flowers) and especially to your baby.

Don’t worry, your baby won’t judge you!

Then, most of what you do is  …  wait  …

Let your baby watch you while you enjoy learning, and let them play along when they’re ready.

Be happy with however your baby chooses to play.  This is how you provide good soil (or a safe place to grow).

Babies love to learn! It will happen just by your showing them how much fun you’re having!
